Our First Birthday

Thank you to everyone who came and joined us for cake and coffee to celebrate our first birthday. It is hard to believe that a year has already gone by. We have met lots of wonderful people who have become more than just customers, but our friends. Gateway2Scrappin has become, for some, their “Happy Place”. A place to come and spend time with friends and pursue a craft that they enjoy. We feel very lucky to be able to be part of your lives. What does the future hold….. we plan to continue to provide you with a wide variety of scrapbooking and card making supplies. A place that is welcoming and encourages you with your craft. We also plan to introduce some new classes in the not too distant future….stay tuned. Again a big thank you to all of you who have made our first year such a success.

She’s back... Cards With

Lyn Lyn will be holding a card class once a month. Beginning in May, on the 13 th , the class will be held twice on a Thursday, once at 10.00 – 12.00 and then again in the evening at 6.30-8.30pm. Cost of the class is $15 and this will include either 4 cards and a box or 5 cards. Cards are available to view instore. Bookings are essential to ensure all materials are prepared.

Challenge Packs

We have found that the challenge has been getting people to return their challenge packs. We understand that you all lead busy lives and it is a challenge for us to scrap the pages we plan to, so we have decided to give our monthly challenges a rest for the time being. Thank you to all who have entered pages in the past, we have enjoyed sharing your work with others and know that you have inspired many.

What’s New

The April range of Kaiser papers and embellishments is instore along with the new FREE workshop magazine. „Tea At Elsie‟s‟ would be a great range to use with your heritage photos and the beautiful purples, greens and blues of the “Utopia” range could be used on a variety of layouts or off the page projects. The Latest DoCrafts Magazine is also instore with some new ranges of paper and embellishments. The V & A range is inspired by the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, Papermania has a new wedding collection and male and floral themed collections as well. We also received an order of newly released papers from Bo Bunny, 3 Bugs in a Rug, Fancy Pants and Imaginisce. So come in and check them out……but be quick as everyone who sees them has to have them!

Ladies Day

Friday at Gateway is always a hive of activity with friends (and future friends) meeting to scrap the day away. As we have scheduled children‟s classes and have other afternoons available for children during the week we feel it important to have a day set aside just for the ladies, hence the name change to “Ladies Day”. Unfortunately due to increasing costs and the need to replace and update our workshop tools, a full day of scrapping on a Friday (9am – 5pm) will incur a small charge of $5. As a thank you to our VIP members there will be no charge. We hope you understand and continue to join us for a great day. Whether you want some inspiration or have a project to complete, come and spend the day with us. Endless cups of tea or coffee, yummy morning tea and lots of laughs…..what a great way to spend a Friday!

After Dark Scrappin

Friday night, from 5pm on, is a crop night for all to enjoy. We are here to offer advice and inspiration to complete your projects. This relaxed night allows us to spend time with all of our scrappy friends. It is a great opportunity to complete all those unfinished projects. Cost is $10 per person. Supper, chocolate, coffee and laughs included.

Card Classes

“Gateway Cards, Bags, Tags and Boxes” is held on Tuesdays from 10 – 12pm. This class has become very popular with everyone making at least 4 cards and having a great time. Beginners are more than welcome. Each week make a range of cards, bags, tags or boxes. We will use a variety of techniques and tools. Cost is $15 and includes all materials. All cards etc. are available to view during the week before each class. Bookings are essential to ensure all materials are prepared.

Class with Shirl

On Wednesday mornings from 10 – 12 Shirl holds a scrapbooking lesson with the first 2 classes free (you only need to purchase materials). Class cost is normally $5. These pages are on display in the shop. Bookings are preferable. So come along and enjoy a morning of scrapping.

Kids Saturday Program

Scraplets – a class for our younger scrappers up to 10 years of age. Time 10 till 12pm. Cost $10, this includes use of tools and some materials. Other items may be purchased. Teen Scrappin – a time for our young and creative to come and scrap with friends. Time: 1pm – 3pm. Costs $10, this includes use of tools and some materials. Other items may be purchased. Bookings for all Saturday classes essential.

We endeavour to stock a wide variety of products, if you don‟t see what you need in store please ask and we will do our best to find it for you.

Cricut

The Cricut is becoming a must use item within the store, with many of our customers also making the decision to invest in one themselves. If you are interested in finding out what this machine is capable of please come in and see us. You don‟t need to own your own machine or mat to be able to come and enjoy this class. Our Cricut Time is on a Thursday morning 10 -12pm. This is a free class using both Cricut and Cuttlebug making cards, tags, pages etc. You only need to purchase any materials used. Check instore for details and to book your seat.

Cricut Extras

We currently offer a re-sticking service for your cricut mats. We have had to increase our fee to cover the costs, as it is a very lengthy procedure and the costs of materials required has increased. The new charge is $10 per mat.

Don’t Forget Mother’s Day Gift Vouchers Want to make someone very happy? Gift vouchers are available for use instore on products and classes and make the perfect gift for a scrapper or card maker. Gift packs can also be made for specific values if you prefer. Please ask for details.
